Distinguished Programs

Distinguished Club Program

Toastmasters International's Distinguished Club Program/Club Success Plan focuses on Club education and membership growth. All Clubs are automatically considered in the Distinguished Club Program, which begins July 1st and ends the following June 30th. Progress is tracked at World Headquarters based on information submitted by the Clubs.

10 Goals

 1.  Two CCs
 2.  Two more CCs
 3.  One ACB, ACS, or ACG
 4.  One more ACB, ACS, or ACG
 5.  One CL, AL, or DTM
 6.  One more CL, AL, or DTM
 7.  Four new members
 8.  Four more new members
 9.  Minimum four officers trained each training period
10. One semi and one officer list submitted on time

Membership Requirement:

At year-end a club must have At least 20 members, or a Net growth of at least five new members

Clubs that meet the membership requirement and do the following earn recognition:

  • Achieve 5 of 10 goals achieves Distinguished Club
  • Achieve 7 of 10 goals achieves Select Distinguished Club
  • Achieve 9 of 10 goals achieves President's Distinguished Club 

Distinguished Area Program

Participation:


All Areas with a club base of 3 or more clubs are automatically considered for the Distinguished Area Program. An area club base includes all clubs which submitted a complete semi for April in the previous Toastmaster year plus all clubs chartered between April 1st and June 30th of the previous Toastmasters year. (Toastmaster year goes from July 1st to June 30th of the following calendar year.)

Criteria & Recognitions:


Areas may be recognized as Distinguished, Select Distinguished or President's Distinguished.

Note: For all calculations, the number is rounded down. For example, if 75% of clubs required and there are 7 clubs in area, then 75% * 7 = 5.25, requires 5 clubs to meet goal. See table for actual Goals below

Distinguished Area

Area meets 4 of the following 5 goals:
  1. 75% of Oct semi submitted on time.
  2. 75% of Apr semi submitted on time.
  3. Average of 1.75 CCs per club by June 30th
  4. Average of 1 AC for every two clubs by June 30th
  5. 60% of Area Clubs at 20+ membership by June 30th

Select Distinguished Area

Area meets all 5 goals for Distinguished Area plus all of the following:
  1. Submission of 80% of Area Report of Club Visit form; received by District Governor no later than Oct 30th and DG submit all forms post marked no later than Nov 30th and received at WHQ no later than Dec 10th, 5pm PT.
  2. Submission of 80% of Area Report of Club Visit form; received by District Governor no later than Apr 30th and DG submits all forms post marked no later than May 31st and received at WHQ no later than June 10th, 5pm PT.
  3. 60% of Area Clubs achieved Distinguished Club

President's Distinguished Area

Area meets all 8 goals for Select Distinguished Area plus:
  1. Net growth of one club

Goals

Distinguished Area

Area meets 4 of the following 5 goals:

Distinguished Division Program


Participation

All Divisions within a District are eligible to participate. All Divisions must have 3 Areas.


Criteria & Recognitions

Divisions may be recognized as Distinguished, Select Distinguished or President's Distinguished.

Distinguished Division

Division meets all of the following goals:
  1. No net club loss
  2. AT LEAST 50% of Area Distinguished or better. Only Areas eligible in the Distinguished Area Program are counted. Calculations are rounded up to the next whole number.

Select Distinguished Division

Division meets all of the following goals:
  1. No net club loss
  2. 75% of Area Distinguished or better. Only Areas eligible in the Distinguished Area Program are counted. Calculations are rounded down to the next whole number.

President's Distinguished Division

Division meets all of the following goals:
  1. Net growth of one club
  2. 75% of Area Distinguished or better. Only Areas eligible in the Distinguished Area Program are counted. Calculations are rounded down to the next whole number.

Division meets all of the following goals:
  1. No net club loss
  2. 40% of Area Distinguish or better. Only Areas eligible in the Distinguished Area Program are counted.

Select Distinguished Division

Division meets all of the following goals:
  1. No net club loss
  2. 60% of Area Distinguish or better. Only Areas eligible in the Distinguished Area Program are counted.

President's Distinguished Division

Division meets all of the following goals:
  1. Net growth of one club
  2. 60% of Area Distinguish or better. Only Areas eligible in the Distinguished Area Program are counted.

Distinguished District Program

The Distinguished District Program is used for both recognition and management for the District. The program year begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th.

Criteria & Recognitions


Districts may be recognized as Distinguished, Select Distinguished or President's Distinguished.

Distinguished District


District meets all of the following goals:
  1. Planning and Training - post marked by Sep 30th and received at WHQ no later than Oct 10th a District High Performance Plan and Division/Area Governor Training Report with 85% of Division and Area Governors trained.
  2. Membership Growth - number of per capita (percaps) payment increase by 2% or more over previous year
  3. Net Club Growth - net growth of 3%
  4. CC awards - equal or exceed 3.5% of District membership per capita payments for previous year
  5. AC awards - equal or exceed 0.5% of District membership per capita payments for previous year
Points are awarded for meeting these goals and additional points for exceeding the goals to determine the top performing Districts. The top 12 Districts in points are recognized as Select Distinguished or President's Distinguished Districts.
